Alison Forner, Senior Art Director

Alison Forner joined Simon & Schuster in 2015. In addition to co-art directing the Simon & Schuster list, she is also the art director of Avid Reader Press. Previously she worked as an art director at Penguin Random House and a designer at Ecco/HarperCollins. Over the course of her career, Alison has had the privilege of designing jackets for such notable authors as Jimmy Breslin, Elizabeth Gilbert, A.M. Homes, Peter Matthiessen, Joyce Carol Oates, Philip Pullman, and Sarah Waters. Her work has been recognized by AIGA in their 50 Books/50 Covers Show, the New York Book Show, and in PRINT’s Regional Design Annual. She was selected for inclusion in The Best of Cover Design published by Rockport in 2011. Her work was also featured in Classic Penguin: Cover to Cover published by Penguin Random House in 2016. A graduate of Barnard College, Alison was a professional dancer, a poet, and a print production manager before moving on to a career in graphic design.
