Amanda Lara joined Simon & Schuster in 2023. Prior to joining S&S, Amanda worked at HarperCollins in publicity. Before her time at HarperCollins, Amanda interned at Folio Literary Management in the children’s and young adult division. She has also been involved in numerous inclusivity-focused mentorship programs within the publishing industry, including People of Color in Publishing, Inkluded, and the Representation Matters Mentor Program.

Amanda graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a BA in English education. While she reads broadly, Amanda is particularly passionate about narrative nonfiction, essay collections on pop culture and social issues, celebrity memoirs, and experimental genre fiction. When she’s not reading, Amanda is probably watching a Marvel movie.
